Moonposition.com uses no cookies for statistics, advertising or tracking. The site stores just three small settings in your browser, and only when you make a choice yourself: theme, place and your recent places. That’s why there is no cookie banner.
What cookies and local storage are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. Local storage (localStorage) works in a similar way. The law treats them the same, so in this policy we call them all “cookies”.
What the law says
Under the EU ePrivacy Directive (Article 5(3)), implemented in Sweden by the Electronic Communications Act (2022:482) chapter 9 section 28, and in the United Kingdom by PECR regulation 6, a website may only store or read information on your device if you have been given clear information about the purpose and have consented. There is an exception: consent is not needed when the storage is strictly necessary to provide a service you have explicitly asked for.
All three settings below fall under that exception. They are created only when you choose a theme or a place yourself, and they are needed for the site to remember your choice. They are used for nothing else.

The theme and recent places stay in your browser. The place is sent to our server when you open a page, but it is not stored there or linked to you. If you choose “Use my location”, only the rounded coordinates of the place are stored, as part of manen-place.
Third parties
There are no third-party cookies on the site. Fonts and images are served from our own server, and we use no analytics tools, social buttons or ad networks.
If we ever want to start measuring visits with a tool that stores data in your browser, we will ask you first. You will get to choose between “Accept” and “Decline” just as easily, and the site will work just as well if you decline. This page will be updated before anything like that is used.
Remove what’s stored
You can remove the settings here, or clear site data for moonposition.com in your browser settings. The site then goes back to the default place and a theme that follows your device.
